Ann Mitchell

Ann

Ann is a retired healthcare professional who always had a love for art, however, did not pursue painting until 2012.  Instead she focused on her career while taking classes in various kinds of crafts including: macrame, basket weaving, knitting and crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, stained glass and wreath making.

While participating in a work project of painting panels for a wall mural, Ann was inspired and she decided it was time at long last to take a painting class. It sparked the love of painting that has continued ever since.

Ann continues to paint in her free time and is mostly self-taught, She uses on-line art instruction and books to learn new techniques.  She is a member of the League of Reston Artists, Art League and The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA.

Ann has sold a number of paintings through her personal Facebook page and by networking. After many requests she created this website. A special thank you to Ann's great friend Sharon for helping with the name Colors on Canvas.

Enjoy!
